Ready-mixed concrete was used in the drive, motor court, entry court, sitting area, and connecting walks. It included integral color, stamped, and broom finish variations in the borders and panels. Creating a directional and inviting entry sequence, a seating area with connecting walks and access to garage doors, and invisible front entrance demanded attention to engineering requirements related to layout, drainage, and integration of existing materials.
The aesthetic goal of creating a special visual entrance experience to the motor court, house entry and seating area was accomplished through the application of color, line, form, and texture of ready-mix concrete. The fundamental challenge was the scheduling and implementation of each phase of the project from overall design, demolition, and site grading, through set up and pouring of the borders and panels to stripping, cleaning, and sealing of the final product in a pandemic affected world.
49 cubic yards of concrete represented 100% of the project. Ready-mixed concrete provided the flexibility, beauty, durability, and sustainability to meet the aesthetic and economic vision of the project.
