City of Fond du Lac Streets & Utilities Contract
Carew Concrete & Supply teamed up with Mark Cardinal Concrete to make improvements around the city. The 2024 city of Fond du Lac Streets and Utilities contract was a significant project encompassing 11 streets and the construction of a synthetic hockey rink at a local park.
This ambitious undertaking involved placing 3,270 cubic yards of concrete for pavement, curbs, and sidewalks. Mix designs ranged from State A to DOT Grade E.
One of the project’s highlights was the innovative use of stringless curb technology, marking the first time this method was implemented in a city contract. This advanced approach improved efficiency & safety, particularly in busy neighborhoods where traditional string lines could pose tripping hazards to residents.
Additionally, this project required thoughtful coordination to minimize disruptions for the community. For instance, we strategically planned operations to ensure the paving activities near one section of the road did not interfere with local football games.
This project stands as a testament to team members’ commitment to quality, innovation, & community collaboration. The project was completed in October 2024.
