Winner: Special Merit Parking Lot
National Exchange Bank & Trust
National Exchange Bank & Trust in West Bend was built in 1995. The parking lot reconstruction was a unique project. It is one of twelve concrete parking lots for the bank which has an extensive branch network in Southeastern Wisconsin. The project consisted of the reconstruction of a blacktop parking lot using 590 cubic yards of concrete.
The reconstruction of this parking lot involved concrete for pavement, sidewalks, and curbs. When the bank decided to use concrete for their parking lots, it led to thousands of yards of concrete for the industry. The project consisted of 1 ½ lbs. Forta Fibers per yard, done in two consecutive pours.
By choosing the plans for a full concrete deck and adding fibers to the mix, the parking lot will provide a highly durable and long-lasting surface requiring minimal maintenance compared to the previous asphalt parking lot.
The concrete parking lot will also provide more benefits like superior load-bearing capacity, better heat reflection, a longer lifespan, and making the parking lot ideal for heavy traffic and harsh weather conditions.
